Do I need a specific kit to install a fan on a ceiling with a pitch?

Do i need a specific mounting kit to install a hampton bay altura fan on a ceiling with a pitch? I was told it might come with it, or that you wont need it as long as the head pivots… but I want the pole to be straight. PLEASE HELP!

The pivot occurs at the mounting plate, not the fan housing. The fan is so heavy that having the pivot at the fan housing would apply too much torque to the down rod (pole). Since the pivot is at the mounting bracket, the down rod goes straight up and down, so there is no additional torque applied to it.

The attachment point for the down rod automatically pivots to where the rod hangs straight up and down by gravity. But, depending on the slope of the ceiling and the width of the fan blades, you may need to buy a longer down rod to allow enough clearance for the fan blades (so they don’t contact the ceiling when the fan turns). This may also require longer wires to go through the longer rod.
