i have an antique floor lamp?

i’m trying to figure out if it originally had a glass or fabric shade. and also, what the name of the piece where the shade would fit is called.
the piece is bell shaped with a pull chain socket. it has no small screws like you would see with a small glass shade to hold it on,such as on a ceiling fan. there is actually nothing that would affix the shade to the bell that i can tell. any ideas? i don’t know how to put a picture up in order for you to view it or i would do that
sorry, i forgot to say that the bell is aims down. and swivels. it’s connected to an arched arm

Hummm, I wish you had a picture:) I thought that what you were referring to was a “Harp”, the metal piece that connects to a normal table lamp, which hold the shade up, but now I’m not too sure. Are there any threads anyplace, where you could screw on a finial after you put the shade on?? You might search eBay, for “Antique floor lamps” and maybe you can get some kind of idea from a picture of a similar lamp on there, and be able to figure out the problem:)
